Please, don't exaggerate- although having to use X11 is a pain, it is not hard to install. If you didn't install it when you installed tiger, insert your Tiger DVD, double click on the "optional installs" icon, and select "X11".
Now, how hard was that?

(BTW, the install of OOo2 also improved a lot- just drag it to the applications folder, and your done, assuming you have X11 installed).
