Take a look at www.neooffice.org-- you might find it to be an easier install and easier to use

There have been a fair number of posts to this list with the installer getting stuck on the same font. I am not sure if that this is an Open Office issue, and Apple X11 issue or just a screwed up font. I know MS word would tell me that Lucida was corrupt when I launched it, and I had the same issue installing Open Office. I think I ran some kind of font fixer -- but I don't remember which one -- sorry!

Thanks

Howdy,

I'm installing Open Office 1.1.2 for Mac OS X (X11 installed).

I'm on a Mac G4 533 1GB RAM, Mac OS 10.3.9.

The Open Office Install Window, CONVERTING FONTS, has been working for 30-minutes, "Installing...Execute Target File: convert_Lucinda.sh"

Thanks
