Hi Mark,
The software didn't cause the problem. When you installed
it, you chose to make it the default program to open office
files. Deleting the software instead of uninstalling it made
this change stick. To fix it, shift-right-click on one of
each MSO file types and choose 'open with'. Select the
appropriate program from the offered list and check 'Always
open .....'.
