Some time ago I downloaded your office system 1.9......

A) At that time I started receiving massive amounts of your user-query-type
email. Interesting but much too much to go through so I somehow desubscribed.
More recently I found I was not receving emails from certain other mailing
lists I thought I was on. On finding them in a "junk" file I resubscribed to
the ones I wanted, which uintentionally resulted in being restored also to
receving all your "(re) user": email. How do I reduce its volume?

B) Recently I noticed that the screen now shows me as being on openoffice
2.0. I don't remember downloading this. Note also that the word "beta" is also
shown on my screen. What is up? The help screens I now get from openoffice talk
about passwords, etc. I didn't know there were any passwords. What should I do
now?

C) I recently started using calc to table things like Christmass present
lists, etc.( I am an old user of Lotus and Wordperfect who never adopted the
Microsoft line of office programs!) When I went to alphabetize these tables
by using sort (which is easy in Lotus) I was blocked. Yur instructions say to
use the "data" tab followed by "sort" but sort is greyed out on the droplist
menu that comes down from "data" . Also the small icon for ascending sort does
nothing. How am I supposted to sort these Christmas lists of mine?

D) I also need to learn more about how to use calc. For example if you add some
items to the middle (or bottom) of a column the previously-set total at the
bottom of the column doesn't change! I have had to recorrect such totals,
initially be rewriting them completely, but have since discovered that merely
removing and re-entering the equal sign does the trick. But such a trick should
not be needed at all (It wasn't needed in Lotus)

Looking forward to hearing from you.
