Spotlight -- OS X
and I think you could do it with the search function in XP -- I don't
know if XP indexes by default or if you have to turn it on -- I also
don't know if MS excludes OO.o files just to be MS.
Thanks

Subject: [users] [moderated] search multiple odt files.
How do I search for text across multiple odt text files?
I have several hundred articles I've written.
Now I need to find each article that contains a particular phrase.
Is there a function in OpenOffice (2) that will do this?
Or, is there a third party program that works well with
OpenOffice that will do this?
Regards,
Claude Needham
I use Yahoo Desktop Search and really like it. Very fast.
