Posting etiquettte does call for trimming irrelevant quoted material, 
leaving only enough for the context of the response to be clear. If you're 
seeing so much quoted material at the top that you lose interest before 
you get to the response, then that person is violating usenet etiquette 
just as much as the person who top-posts. But that doesn't make 
top-posting ok by default.
