As with any other MS Office macro it needs to be rewritten from scratch. Bibliographic capabilities of OOo are still rather weak, so you have to bear with them -- please, join the bibliographic project of OOo <http://bilbiographic.openoffice.org> and its email list and we can talk about that there more.
