There is  a difference between OOo and MSOffice. The latter started
life as a bunch of separate apps cobbled together and then called an
office suite. This was a great marketing ploy and was followed by other
companies.

However OO started life as a single unit with difference components for
different uses. They are a single organism, in many ways. A large part
of the code is shared amongst the different units, so you can't save
much even if it were possible to just download one component.
