Simple questions first: Would you be willing to help someone who said or wrote to you what you have written to us? Why didn't you simply ask how to change the icons for you MS Office files back to what they were? By the way, if you accidently have one of the later versions of OpenOffice.org (OOo) on your computer, you had to click at least one checkbox to make the change you do not like. The problem is file associations. Start OpenOffice.org. Click Help. If you have OOo 2.0 on the computer, then click OpenOffice.org Help. (For the 1.1.x versions, click Help and then Contents.) Click the Index tab and enter Microsoft Office;reassign document type in the Search box. Click the Display button at the bottom of the window. It will explain how to reassociate your Word files with MS Word. You might want to also open the Microsoft Help files and look for file associations.
