Is there a function or a simple formula that will count the number of times a specific character is on a spreadsheet. I have many noncontiguous cells on a spreadsheet. I want to know how many have an "X" in them. Other cells will never contain an "X" so the entire sheet could be searched if necessary. Something like =countcharacter(A1:Z99;"X") would be nice.
