I am using OpenOffice.org 2.0. I have 2 problems one minor and one major.
1 How do I permanently change the language for the Spellchecker from

2 Whenever I open OpenOffice Base, I follow the Wizard instructions,
giving my new database a name e.g. Videos. When I try to set up a table,
I get a message "Connection to data source could not be established. File
URL not correct."
The info also gives "SQL status HY0000 Error Code 1000".
Please help. All I want to do is set up a database to catalogue my videos
and DVDs. Surely it can't be that difficult.
Have you defined the tables as you use the Wizard? The error could be
from not having a table. Please see

PS I'm very happy with OpenOffice Writer.
That is nice to know.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Language problem sorted. Checked manual and
followed instructions (no different from what I'd been doing) but when I
get to new database screen and click on Tables still get message "File URL
not correct" & can go no further.
Should have mentioned I'm a complete novice so words of one syllable would
be appreciated.
Thanks again
