Thanks for the quick response...what's really strange is that now it doesn't do 
it...so perhaps i had some strange software loop, like a quirk or 
something....but you were correct in what you had figured i meant...This 
inquiry can be closed and called "the boy who cried wolf and the wolf 
disappeared!"......

Hi Patrick,
What you should see is that the Save icon is "greyed out" when you save the 
document. Is that what you mean ?
