I have found that pasting twice seems to do the trick. It appears to be
a focus
issue between Aqua and X11 as near as I can tell. I paste quite often
between
Aqua apps and OOo on 10.3.9 and 10.4.x.

this is an OOo issue as this is the only X11 app on this machine.
I have Googled around and saw some posts that a clipboard issue was
fixed with
10.4.3. The iMac came with 10.4.4 and is now running 10.4.6.
Any ideas?
