OpenOffice.org (aka OOo) can write to many different MS PowerPoint
formats. So the short answer is, yes.
However, you may find it useful to know that OOo can export your
presentation to either flash or PDF making it usable for a much wider
audience, not to mention usable for a longer period of time should you
want to or need to save the presentation for some years.
