Re this matter - how could I use icons as short cuts to styles?

All the best

Is there a way to quickly go through a long, unformatted document, and as I go down press pre-configured keyboard shortcuts, to apply pre-configured formatting to sections of text?

What I'm really trying to avoid is having to select the text, then go to Format>Styles>Catalog (or even have to press F11), then select the appropriate Style from the Style Catalog pane, then click on OK for each time I need to apply a style. Sorry for the reference to M$ Word, but I recall I was able to assign Keyboard Shortcuts to its Styles equivalent.

Many thanks.
