Thanks to you both for your answers. Adrian: I had found this feature already, the problem is that it makes the text fit to the frame both horizontally and vertically. This implies that the fonts are deformed for this purpose and that text that used to fit over several lines is squished onto a single line. Collaterally, bullets seem to go all over the place (text is written over the bullet).
The behaviour I am looking for (which is the one in PP, not a random fancy of mine ;-) ), is that by default the text is a given size, and if the text becomes too high to fit within a frame, the font sizes are decreased (but at all times, wrap around works normally). Michele: Thanks, following your suggestion, I looked at the macro option. So far, I found out that: - increase/decrease font options exist in Writer, but not in Impress as far as I could find out (why??) - somebody has written a macro to do what I want in Writer [1], but it looks quite complicated, and I would rather avoid wasting several days on this.. And as to whether we like this feature, I do think too that it is a matter of taste: I don't want a tool to dictate me what it considers as "good style", and want to be able to get everything I want into the page, and then assess whether this is too much. But I do understand your points too ! Thanks again, Mélanie [1] http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/hillview/OOo/ShrinkToFit.sxw
