Meanwhile I was able to solve the problem - thanks to a LINUX
experienced computer programmer from the island of Malta, neer Greece,
who incidentaly stayed as guest in our B & B here in Wiarton, Ontario.
He found out that my /tmp file was "FULL" and that caused all the trouble.
After he cleared out the /tmp file all programs worked fine, the
blockage of e-mail sending, Nautilus and more was over after that.
This may be an important information for other users in such case, with
the know how it is easy.

I want you to check something first. Have a look at Tools > Options >
OpenOffice.org Writer > Compatibility and see if the top box is checked.
If yes, uncheck it or vice versa. See if the saved document prints.
If this is not the problem, I think many of the volunteers on the list
would like to help. So I suggest that you enter an issue into Issue
Tracker as this is the best way to have problems such as this evaluated.
Remember to attach an example to the issue and, after the issue is
complete as you can make it, post the link and/or number to this list.
If you haven't already registered, do the following:
1. To file an issue you must register with OOo by clicking the
My Pages tab and selecting the Register link

2. Fill in your information
3. Reply to the confirmation email that will be sent to the address
you provided.
4. Once you have confirmed, go to www.openoffice.org again
5. And click on the "My Pages" tab from which you can file and find
issues.
