Hopefully I can explain what I want to do and it will make sense.

Every month I get a speadsheet from a company with information based on a telephone number. Now, I now that each telephone number belongs to a specific fishing vessel.

First thing I want to be able to do is have a spreadsheet or an OOo database (which I have already created) with the telephone numbers and the corresponding vessel name. Then I can query that table so that in possibly a new spreadsheet it substitutes the phone number with the vessel's name.

Well, it gets a little more complicated. What I really want is a data pilot table. And it shows the phone numbers and it's those numbers I would like to substitute with the vessel name. Problem is, I'm not sure how to do that.

Perhaps I should fool with a spreadsheet at all, but create a query that pulls data from the spreadsheet and the table? Now the problem being that each month it's a new spreadsheet. But it shouldn't be hard to either: a) change the query to look to a different spreadsheet each time; or b) change the name of the spreadsheet each time to something generic (per the query).

However, a) would be the better option as then, it would be really great if I could have a query that would analyze the spreadsheet from each month.

Another option I just thought of would be to import each spreadsheet into a table.

Thanks for any input into this question.
