Hi--
Tonight I upgraded my Ubuntu install from 5.10 to the
latest 6.06. Now my OOo2.02 install seems to be gone.
It is not on the menu under Office. When I click an
.odt file it tries to open it with file-roller.
When I right click and choose open with, it says it
cannot find ooffice2.
This is a production environment and I need to use
OOo Writer to get my work done.
I went to /opt/openoffice.org2 and tried to run
swriter, but it says it cannot find necessary files
and so refuses to start up.
Using Synaptic and apt-get to reinstall produces no
changes--it clearly thinks OOo is installed.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Did you do a locate to see where OO2 is (now)? They may have done a
name-change on you.
I'm using Ubuntu, and I'm a writer, so I have no patience with the
strange tings Ubuntu might do with it (last time around, they left out
the Thesaurus!) so I download the version from the OpenOffice site, put
it through alien, and away I go.
