The best way to specify your date formats is to select the cell or column you wish to format, then either on the top menu bar or 'right click' on your mouse to choose Format>Numbers>Date; select the 31/12/99 option, then in the Format code box below change it from DD/MM/YY to DD-MM-YY (or DD.MM.YY, on my message reader I can't see which you are choosing); Then click on the 'tick' box alongside. This will format your chosen cells as you selected, and also add that Format type to the list of Date formats attached to that particular spreadsheet, so you can select & use it again if you need to.
Good luck, Royce G.

Subject: [users] Calc - decimal separator, date format - how do I specify them on Windows?

Hello.

I need to specify "." as decimal separator and 'dd-mm-yy' as date
format. I have tried every possible setting in Control Panel\Regional,
Regional Options, Customize but Calc just shows ",".
Specifically "Decimal Symbol" in Numbers and "Decimal Symbol" in
Currency are both set to "."

It appears that Calc saves settings during installation and never looks
at OS settings again.
Any ideas?

Thanks.
WBR,
K. Palagin.
