OS/2, not Amiga.
Can you open them with MS Word (or other component of MS Office)?
If so, open them and use "Save As" from the File menu to save them as native
MS office documents. Then OpenOffice will be able to open them.
You *might* lose some formatting during this double conversion. Perhaps not
all fonts will be supported, for example. You might find the font(s) for OO
using Google.
