-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
I'm using Gentoo x64 (Kernel 2.6.17) with a Blackbox desktop. OpenOffice 2.0.3 is installed (from binary, without errors) but is very temperamental about starting. I'm having difficulty pinning down the cause- no errors are given when launched from a terminal, but sometimes the software will run but not appear (i.e. openoffice and openoffice.bin appear as running processes, but nothing appears on the screen) and yet sometimes the software works just fine. Launching the software is always the same- a splashscreen appears, shows a loading bar, sometimes I get asked if I want to recover a previous document (usually where I terminated a previous instantiation due to it not appearing) and then the software either loads correctly or runs invisible. This issue only seems to affect oowriter, all the other elements of the suite function fine. When it does load, I've tried disabling GUI effects and OpenGL rendering but the problem remains. oowriter2 appears in my list of open windows, but shifting focus to it does not bring it up (although it will happily steal focus from other windows). I'm curious to know if anybody knows of any obvious issues which might cause these symptoms. Many thanks, Karl Lynch. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFE50f/mnPj+tWFc0oRAm+CAKCOmU3vfK6B36sHKiM1i+wzHVKU4ACbBsEd aOC5bjqfyZmXPyFNMzLhCJM= =NC1V -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
