I tried all that and it still didn't work. So I re-installed OS X.4 with X11 and then trine to reinstall Open Office. Same problem again. When I choose force quit it shows Open Office as a droplet. Is that normal? How can I get this thing to work once and for all?
As for the X11 window that opens up everytime, I tried to type the command they mention in the setup guide to no avail... HELP!!! -----Message d'origine----- De : Fran Mennick [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Envoyé : 29 août 2006 13:35 À : users@openoffice.org Objet : Re: [users] Open Office won't open I just installed OOo on an eMac running 10.4.7. When I tried to open it, I got a message about a problem with X11. Do you know if you have X11 installed? It's not part of the basic installation package. If you have it installed, it should be in Applications -> Utilities. If not, insert your system install disk, scroll down to "optional installs", click to open, click to continue, agree, continue, until you come to a list of things to install. Click on the triangle next to "Applications," check on "X11" and install. Of course make sure not to have any applications running and install from an administrator account. This solved the problem for me. Fran On Aug 29, 2006, at 10:28 AM, Bosco Daude wrote: > Hi, > > > > Ive installed Open Office on a eMac using X10.4 and I just cant > get it to open.
