I am using Open Office version 2.0.
I received an error 504 while using an interest function in Calc.
But when I went to Help all I ever received were statements like the following:
Help > Spreadsheets > General Information and User Interface Usage > Welcome to the OpenOffice.org Calc Help:
The Information Received is as follows:
"Could not find Help page.
Unfortunately the Help page you selected was not found. The following data
could be helpful in locating the error:
Help ID: text/scalc/main0000.xhp
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Click Back to return to the previous page."
I received messages exactly like this, except for the ID:, for every Spreadsheet help item. Writer Help worked just fine.
I went to install and Repaired, but this did not solve the problem. So, I uninstalled Open Office and then reinstalled it from another source (PCAnswers magazine free disk), with the same result.
Please help,
Thanks,
Danny White
Danny,
I'm going to assume you have Windows and installed the English language
version of OpenOffice. And I'm going to imagine I know what I am talking
about.
Look in
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.0\help\en
for
scalc.jar.
Is it there? If you don't find that path, you might try searching for
scalc.jar.
I just happen to be learning about help files right now.
From
http://documentation.openoffice.org/online_help/techdetails.html
Help Module Contents Files (Section Archives)
The *.jar contents files contain the help topic files for a help
section. It is an archive file with a subdirectory structure that
contains all help xhp files. There is one archive per help section
(sbasic, shared, sdraw, simpress, scalc, schart, swriter, smath). Each
help module comprises more than one help section.
