The default way to accept the highlighted portion is to hit the Enter key.
You can change this at Tools>Autocorrect>Word Completion. There's a box 
labelled "Acccept with". The list offers Enter, End, Space, Right (arrow) and 
Tab. Choose the one that suits you best.
