I am trying to use autofill with a letter.

As for downloading or traveling to other websites, unfortunately my boss will not allow me to change settings or surf the web.

As for the Gmane newsletter, never heard of it.

As for this message being answered a long time ago. I received nothing about this question. I have received other emails about the formatting of paragraphs, but unless my email went to a deleted/spam folder, I don't recal anyone answering it. I did, however, get alot of advice this time.

I appreciate all your help with this. My boss took Word away one day and left us with OpenOffice and no help or advice on how to use it. I am at a loss and all your help is apprecaited, but I can't download software or programs or even go to another website to look up other stuff as then the whole office would have to be notified and approved, yadda yadda.

Ms. Brown:

I would hate to break this to you, but this is not a help desk with paid people, this is a mailing list staffed by volunteers. Your message was answered a long time ago by the peopel here.

As to your question, it is possible to get OpenOffice.org to automatically fill in address information, but you have to provide us with the part of the program you are using. Is this while writing a letter, filling in entries in a database, or building a spreadsheet?

As to subscribing, it is RECOMMENDED but not necessary to join the list as the amount of traffic (messages) is very high. However, if you have access to the Gmane news service, you can find this list there and maybe limit the amount of traffic.

I do, however, recommend that you not reply to any one message directly, but reply to the mailing list [email protected] Please do not change the subject line for this series of messages as this is used by some mail software to track the conversation (sometimes referred to as a thread of messages.)

Thank you.

James McKenzie

Subject: [users] Hello? Still waiting for help.

I had sent an email once before to the help desk asking how to become part of the list serve and I got no response. So I started to email people this way and keep getting emails saying that most likely I won't be getting responses because I haven't joined. How do I join? I have had a lot of questions that seem to be lost in space and never answered.

One big question I have is about auto fill. When I start to type a city, in Word it would auto fill in the city, state and zip for me. That is really beneficial in my line of work. However, i can't seem to utilize the auto fill in OpenOffice....they don't seem to be the same thing. Any ideas on how I can get this to work??
