I have only recently started using Open Office and starting with Calc I
find having created a Chart it seems impossible to add extra data
points. If I click on the grid like Icon that has the help about chart
editing dialogue nothing happens. so how do I update my chart when I add
some extra data points, It was easy in excel so I must be missing
something. Any help appreciated.
It's always easy in a program you already know! Fortunately, it is quite
easy in Calc as well, once you know where to look.
I assume by "add data points" you mean that you have added more data in
your spreadsheet that you want to include in the chart. To do this:
- select the chart by single clicking on it
- right click the chart and select "modify data range"
- select the entire new data range for the chart with your mouse (or just
type it in)
- click on "create"
