If you want to just set all of your .sxw files to open in OOo2 by default, open
a Finder window, choose an sxw file and hit Command-I (Command is the key with
the apple icon on it, in case you didn't know). In the window that opens,
there should be a section called "Open With" or something like that. If it's
not expanded, click the little arrow beside it. In there, you should be able
to choose an application and select a button called "Change All Files", I
think. I don't have my mac with me right now, so I don't know the exact
wording. But once you set that, all of your .sxw files should open by default
in OOo when you double click them. Then you can keep them in .sxw or change
them to .odt as you please. The extension doesn't really matter as they both
work with OOo2.

By the way, I didn't know NeoOffice was a commercial version. I got my copy in
a free download from the site.
