Hello the list, Below is the end of the installation log. This is about the 10th time I've tried to install a beta, candidate or a release directly from OOo on Debian Sid. It used to work with no problem, but for some reason in the last couple of months, it no longer works.
I've tried several times each with alien, with Pavel's debian packages, but so far no luck with any of them. At least there is the fairly new Debian build, 204, in the repository but I've been running OOo alphas, betas and release candidates since 2001. Maybe it's me? Maybe it's Sid? Maybe it's alien? apt-get? I've tried lots of things. Has anyone managed to install OOo210 on Debian Sid? Any pointers, tips, workarounds, cheatcodes will be appreciated. Thanks for any guidance. regards, Richard. === tail of output from # alien -iv openoffice.org-*.rpm === openoffice.org-base-2.1.0//opt/openoffice.org2.1/share/registry/modules/org/openoffice/TypeDetection/Types chown 0:0 openoffice.org-base-2.1.0//opt/openoffice.org2.1/share/registry/modules/org/openoffice/TypeDetection/Types/fcfg_database_types.xcu chmod 444 openoffice.org-base-2.1.0//opt/openoffice.org2.1/share/registry/modules/org/openoffice/TypeDetection/Types/fcfg_database_types.xcu chown 0:0 openoffice.org-base-2.1.0//opt/openoffice.org2.1/share/xdg chmod 755 openoffice.org-base-2.1.0//opt/openoffice.org2.1/share/xdg chown 0:0 openoffice.org-base-2.1.0//opt/openoffice.org2.1/share/xdg/base.desktop chmod 444 openoffice.org-base-2.1.0//opt/openoffice.org2.1/share/xdg/base.desktop mkdir openoffice.org-base-2.1.0/debian 822-date 822-date chmod 755 openoffice.org-base-2.1.0/debian/rules debian/rules binary 2>&1 Use of uninitialized value in die at /usr/share/perl5/Alien/Package/Deb.pm line 487.
