Dear Vin, My guess is this: OpenOffice allows for saving in Microsoft Office format, so that if one can also work on the a document with Microsoft application, if one desires. However, Microsoft Office doesn't allow for saving documents in OOo format. If you created the documents with OOo, or if you opened them in OOo and did not save them in Microsoft Office format, for later use with Microsoft application, Microsoft Office wont' open your documents, because it simply won't recognize the format.
The only solution that I can suggest to you is that you re-install OOo, open your documents with OOo and save them in the Microsoft Office format. I hope I've been helpful.
