Two steps: 1) If you are using windows, the Quickstarter icon will be in your System tray (next to the clock). It looks like the silhouette of three birds on a blue and gray background. Right click and close it. (It disappears.) 2) Use the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel to remove OOo just like any other program.
