Hi,

In HTML, if one uses the background= attribute in the <body > tag, the
background covers the entire page. Similarly, in MS Word, inserting a
background covers the whole page. Yet in OO.o, inserting a background only
fills up the writable area while beyond the margins the page remains
backgroundless. How does one fix this?

Hello Marsh,

You are right! The only trick I could think of is to define a page with
margins set to 0, then in the borders section of the page formatting set an
invisible border around the page and then the "distance to text" to mimic
the margins.
Not so sure what happens when you insert headers and footers (should work)
or when you print, but it is worth a try.

Cheers,

Michele
