[users] VBA vs Basic

I am trying to use version 2.1 however, I can find nothing that would 
guide me to using or converting my Excel VBA macros in Calc.  Also, if I 
write a new macro, I can't even find how to assign the macro to a button 
or object, (please excuse me if the terminology is incorrect for Calc), 
can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
