The following does for the later version of OOo. You'll have to advise
if older file type extensions are required :
Native OOo documents end in .odt ; native OOo spreadsheets end in .ods

As to your dilema... I would suggest a linux 'live' cd... This is a OS
that can be run from the cdrom drive - primarily used for resucing
systems since it doesn't touch the hard drive.
