Is that a trick question? It has been many moons since I needed to use a
database. I used Lotus Approach. The current favourite seems to be MySql.
OOo has Base.
Why not simply add to the database? You can integrate databases with Calc
spreadsheets if necessary. With the spreadsheet open, press F4, select your
data source and drag data into the spreadsheet. Use the Calc "Data" menu to
manipulate the imported data.
