Hi,

Have you tried looking in
Start -> Programs -> OpenOffice

The Start menu is organised significantly differently in Vista.

it does not give an error msg. Goes thru the install, but does not create the exe files, or icons on the desk top etc. I ran the repair thing also, but to no avail. should erase (uninstall) and try again from scratch. google dowloaded and worked, so i thought it might be peculiar to windows vista maybe. if it is supposed to work on vista, i'll try again. The thing does show thru version xp on the download somewhere.
it acts like it is doing it but I don't get the end results.
Thanks again for your concern.

Hi,

You say that OpenOffice won't install. What do you mean by this?
Do you get any error messages?
Could you tell us the error messages and we should be able to help.

I have a new computer. Downloaded open office, and it won't install. version for vista probably not available, but am I, my download, or lack of version the problem?

Thanks for a response,
