Hi Solveig
In Base, one can easily create data entry forms. However, to allow users
such as data entry clerks to use the forms, they would need to open the
.odb file and then double-click the name of the form.
Is there a simpler way to allow users to access the form? Creating a
copy doesn't retain the ability to enter data.
Also, regardless of the mode of access, can two users use a form to
enter data in a native Base database at the same time?
I was looking at the Base section of the OpenOffice.org Forums last year,
and this question came up there several times (usually in connection with
requests about having a "switchboard" like in Access).
The main solution suggested was to have a standalone Writer form linked
with your database. That way users just have to open the
writer document (which is all a form actually is).
I don't have any direct links, so I hope you can find the relevant posts.
