Jaguar (OS X 10.2) isn't really the latest release of the Mac Operating
System...
It seems there is an old ('legacy') version of OpenOffice.org that works on
Jaguar.
You'll find more information and the download link here:

You will need to install the X11 windowing system, since
OpenOffice.orgdoesn't yet work directly under Mac's Aqua interface.
I suppose you can't upgrade your OS, otherwise you would get a much more
performant office suite (the newest version is 2.2) and the Mac porting team
is working on a native version for Tiger 10.4 (and maybe Panther 10.3) that
doesn't need the X11 windowing system.
