I have installed the full program. Now on desk top the map “openoffice installation files” appears, which after opening shows:
I expected to carry on from here by opening one of the specific parts like in Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
You can ignore that folder on the desktop (delete it if you like). You start OpenOffice.org from the Start Menu. Click Start, then All Programs, then OpenOffice.org. From there you will find shortcuts to open the different OpenOffice.org components.
