I think those links are very representative of Gerry's contributions,
always giving an answer but encouraging further research. At his peak, I
thought it was amazing just how many questions he managed to answer(it
would be interesting to see some stats).

And mine, too.
It was amazing how often, writing from opposite sides of the Pacific, I
would respond to a question, only to find that within an hour or two
either side, Gerry had also responded (usually much more appropriately
and knowledgeably than mine). His contribution to the OOo project will
be sadly missed.
