If the fractions are all found in Column A, you can format this 
column for fractions. Right click the A at the top of the column to 
highlight the entire column and open a context menu. Select Format 
Cells. You will find 'Fraction' near the bottom of the Category list. 
Click it, and then click OK to close the Formating window. You should 
now be able to write fractions in Col. A.
     One warning: Calc reduces fractions. So, 5/8, 10/16, and 20/32 
all appear as 5/8.
