What is the actual mechanism used to determine whether to start a new instance or use an existing one? I know that if I supply a unique directory name as in -env:UserInstallation=<directory name> I can get multiple instances to run but what exactly is happening? Is OO stating the directory or looking for something like a pid file in the directory? I'm asking because I am working with directory polyinstantiation under Fedora Core 7 using SELinux and am polyinstantiating $HOME/.openoffice.org2.0 which means that different instance directories get mounted on $HOME/.openoffice.org2.0 depending on your security context.
