OO can do everything that msoffice can, but not the sound in a pps file. Yes, any sounds on my system works, and Yes, i have Java installed. Cheers to you CP
The inability for OOo to play sound over multiple slides is a well known short fall in OOo. It is the subject of many repeated requests (rightly so). I believe that it will be corrected in the next release of OOo.
