Thanks for trying & I really appreciate your taking the time to give it a shot... but that doesn't resolve what the problem is: 1. Open MS Word Doc with fill-in fields. 2. Protect the document so that text outside of the fill-in fields cannot be edited. 3. Allow the user to enter data into the fill-in fields without having to do it via a pop-up Input Field box. In other words, from the keyboard without mouse interaction. This problem appears on several (and several years old) bug reports in some fashion or another. Unless there are other suggestions (and I hope there are both from Jim & others) I reckon it's off to OOo bug report land.
