Bill, I went to Amazon and put in a search for Open Office CD and I got
several hits. I purchased mine for $2.and some cents plus $3.50 shipping
and handling. Total cost was less than $7.00. It is called Open CD and down
below it says Open CD 07.04, Windows Software CD, Open CD v07.04.iso, Frozen
Tech. I don't know what all that means but the CD contains Open Office
2.2. There is a newer version out so you might want to look for that. And
on the CD there are many other "goodies" like screensavers, Mozilla, Sea
Monkey, etc. I thought it was a real find! And, from what I have been
reading here from other users, it can be copied and distributed as often and
as many copies as you like.
Good luck in your search.
Joyce
P.S. As far as I know there is no "minimal version". It is the full deal.

I have recently purchased two Gateway laptops for my granddaughters
(both are entering college next month) I would like to purchase a disk
to install the minimal version of Open Office. Is the a disk
available and what are the steps required to obtain an installation
disk.
Thanks,
Bill
