Hi Rod, What I'd probably do is click START/ALL PROGRAMS and locate your openoffice.org sub-folder. I don't know which version of openoffice.org you received on CD. Once you've located the sub-folder, right click a program and scroll down to SEND-TO and scroll to DESKTOP (AS SHORTCUT), creating a shortcut of that program on your desktop. What I would do and probably others would say I don't have to is to do that for each openoffice.org program. Actually, that IS what I do everytime I do a major upgrade. Then click on one of those shortcuts. If the shortcut works, then I'd delete the desktop icon that does not work for you.
Greg P.S. I also have WinXP Pro SP2, soon to graduate to Linux. (I hope) Rod Fellows <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Gooday, I have installed Open Office from CD supplied by ThinkAll. There is now an icon on my desktop but I can't progress from it to being able to start anything. What do I need to do? I an running Windows XP Prof 5.1.2600 (SP2) and the Open Office disc is dated 2005. Thanks, Rod Fellows
