You can use OpenOffice to create simple web pages. I use it regularly for
just that purpose.

To see some web pages that I created with OpenOffice, go to

http://www.melvilletheatre.com/articles

and

http://www.thebargainhunter.net

Everything there was made with OpenOffice. (The main
http://www.melvilletheatre.com web page was created using a long-forgotten OS/2
program so it doesn't count for the purposes of this demonstration.)

I find that it's easiest to create the web page with OO Writer, then save it as
HTML (that is one of the options that you get when you click on Save As). At
this point I usually use a text editor to tweak the resulting file to be just
what I want it to be. Then just upload the resulting HTML file (and associated
graphics, of course) to your webserver using scp, ftp, webdav, or whatever it
is that you use to interact with the webserver. That's all there is to it.

Name your main HTML file "index.html" or "index.htm" so it will load
automatically when someone goes to your website.
