I recently installed Open Office org. on my computor which is still a

solution as to why I can't retrieve all attachments.

If someone has sent you a Microsoft Office 2007 document then you won't be able to read it without Microsoft Office 2007 - even earlier versions of Microsoft Office can't read the latest Microsoft documents.

If that's not what is happening then please give us more detail: what sort of attachment is it? What software *exactly* was it created with? Assuming you have a recent (2.2.1) version of OpenOffice, then it should be able to open all MS documents prior to MS Office 2007.

Try saving the document from the e-mail to, say, your desktop and then *right clicking* on it; choose OpenOffice from the list of suggested "Open With" programs. If it's not in the list, browse for it. If this works then your problem is that you have not chosen to "associate" MS documents with OpenOffice. Look up "file associations" in Windows Help.
