Using OO 2.2 Calc on Win 2K. My problem is that the background colour is not displaying for cells. I used the little paintbucket icon on the toolbar and also the Format option. There is no problem with my PC because I have Excel and same spreadsheet looks fine in that. I looked at these 2 threads http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=users&msgNo=127387 http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=users&msgNo=85413 and looks like neither got an answer. I checked and unchecked the various options in Tools/options/OpenOffice.org and Tools/Options/View - no dice.
