No, it is not loaded with popups or anything else like that. Sun
Microsystems decided several years to provide an office suite to the
masses for no charge. That was the Star Office 5.2 version. Then it made
available the source code for the office suite to the open source
community. Since that time, OpenOffice.org was created as the open source
version of Star Office which is a commercial product still offered by Sun
Microsystems. Each new version of OpenOffice.org is a collaboration
between Sun Microsystems and the open source community.

people are saying about it.
